After a week of exciting performances, the winners of the 2008 Gisborne International Music Competition were decided by jurors Charmian Gadd and Richard Addison.

Scholarships for study at the University of Tasmania, were offered to twelve competitors chosen by Professor Jun Yi Ma, himself a former winner of the competition.
The lucky twelve were:

Christina Morris, Sonja Schebeck, Jisun Kim, Sarah Buchan, Sarah McCracken, Janine Harris, Kathryn McKay, Richard Vaudrey, Michael Willimott, Alex Chan, David Mueller-Cajar & Dominique Chaseling.
