Without the passionate support of numerous philanthropists, trusts, businesses, media and lovers of the arts, the Competition simply could not have survived for twenty years.
The Gisborne International Music Competition has evolved to become an internationally respected event that Gisborne can be justifiably proud of. It’s importance both to the music community of New Zealand and Gisborne makes it imperative that the competition continues.
Specific costs for which the Competition seeks sponsorship include:
- Winners Prizes
- Jurors
- Accompanists
- Accompanist internship
- Performances by small groups of competitors at local schools
- Performances by small groups of competitors at retirement homes
- The outdoor “Concert Under the Leaves”
- The Gisborne Young Musicians Competition
